Marc-Étienne Julien, director of Randstad Canada among the best CEOs of Glassdoor
Marc-Étienne Julien, president and CEO of the recruitment and human resources consulting firm Randstad Canada, was ranked among the top 25 CEOs in Canada, according to the 8th annual Employees’ Choice Awards by Glassdoor.
The company’s online review site based its ranking on voluntary employee feedback collected between May 2, 2020 and May 1, 2021. Employees were asked about their CEO’s feelings of leadership – including approval or disapproval – as well as on senior management and other factors related to employee experience.
Glassdoor’s proprietary algorithm took into account the quantity, quality, and consistency of company reviews for companies to qualify for the list.
The average CEO approval rate was 73% out of the 1.5 million reviews collected in Canada, the United States and Europe.
Marc-Étienne Julien was the only leader of a consulting firm to reach the Top 25 in Canada. Julien came in 22nd place with a 96% approval rating. The first five CEOs were Barry McInerney (Mackenzie Investments); Rania Llewellyn (Laurentian Bank); Ernie Herrman (Marshalls); Ronald Cohn (sick children); and Jeffrey Jones (H&R Block).
According to Glassdoor, employees feel that top-ranked CEOs adapt effectively to change, lead transparently, and are dedicated to the health and safety of their employees.
“Over the past year, business leaders around the world have faced unprecedented challenges in supporting employees during the Covid-19 crisis. Now the employees have spoken and it’s clear these CEOs have excelled and found new ways to support their employees when the world of work turned upside down, ”said Christian Sutherland-Wong, CEO of Glassdoor. “I extend my sincere congratulations to the recipients of this year’s Employee Choice Award. “
